Students and Seniors Joined in Prayer

At Saint Monica parish in South Philadelphia, older parishioners are staying connected to their parish with the help of the students of Saint Monica School.  Elementary school students are given the names of homebound elderly parishioners and the students and elders become “Prayer Partners.”  Each day, the students lift their Partners in prayer and write letters and make crafts for them throughout the year.  Sr. Kathleen White coordinates the Prayer Partner Program. The staff of Saint Monica Eldercare Program have the pleasure of delivering the handmade crafts and heartfelt letters.  What a great gift the brings JOY to our elder parishioners.
