Celebrating Ten Extraordinary Years Of Service
Catholic Housing and Community Services extends sincere gratitude to Ms. Margie Marincola, a Care Partner from the Saint Monica Elder Care Program (SMEP), for ten years of extraordinary service.
On June 18, 2007, Ms. Marincola began faithfully serving elderly parishioners from Saint Monica Parish in South Philadelphia. Each week, she assists her clients with chores, errands, and escorts them to medical appointments. In addition, she is a valued co-worker, always ready to share ideas, advice, and support to other members of the SMEP team.
Ms. Bonney DosSantos, Director of SMEP said, “Often, her visits are the bright spots of her clients’ weeks. While the laundry is in the washer or dryer, she spends time chatting with them and perhaps shares a cup of tea. She is a master of organization and time management; what she can accomplish in a two hour visit is quite amazing—and she is always smiling.”
Prior to her service with SMEP, Ms. Marincola served Saint Monica Parish in various roles. When her children were young, she served as a “lunch mom,” supervising students in the lunch room and on the playground. In addition, she worked as a classroom aide at Saint Monica School, helping to decorate classrooms for the holidays, and working with children in the afterschool CARES program.
CHCS thanks Ms. Marincola and all dedicated CHCS employees who help older adults age safely in their homes and within their parish communities throughout the Archdiocese. To learn more about such Parish Based Programs, please visit https://chcsphiladelphia.org/parish-eldercare-programs/.
